My parents’ visit last week started with a three-day trip to Aspen, and it was great to be able to see another area of Colorado that I hadn’t been to before. We picked my parents up early from the airport last Friday morning, and headed west on I-70. The main purpose for the weekend getaway was that my dad had booked a fly fishing trip for Cam and himself the following day. We actually stayed in a town called Basalt, which a really cute little town just north of Snowmass and about 20 minutes north of Aspen and it’s a really popular spot for fly fishing. Here are some of my favorite photos from our weekend there (warning: there are a lot!):

We drove through Leadville, which is where we went camping earlier this summer…at 10,200 feet, it’s America’s highest elevation city…it’s pretty much the opposite of Aspen in terms of the town, but it’s a beautiful place! |

Ski fence! |

Leadville also has a lot of really crazy colorful houses that I find really interesting |
 |
We also stopped to have lunch in Breckenridge, I love that town 🙂 |

This part of Colorado is absolutely gorgeous, and even though my parents have been out here before, it was still a lot of fun for us to share it with them. I’ve got some more pictures from their visit (yes, we actually took more, crazy I know) and I’ll be sharing those soon as well. Until later lovelies! xoxo
