My Summer Beauty Must Haves

Happy Friday!

First of all, I’m so happy with how my new blog design is coming along! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for ages and I could not be more thrilled about the changes as I feel the new look is the perfect reflection of my style and personality. My blog design is actually compliments of my lovely real life/blogging friend Lara who writes over at Simply Irresistible. (You might remember Cam and I went to her wedding in Chicago back in May!) She recently redesigned her own blog and I loved how it turned out, so she was sweet enough to offer to help me out. She has such a great eye for design and I can’t thank her enough for the wonderful job she did!
I feel like I’ve been in a little bit of a blogging slump lately, and I think that many of my fellow bloggers are in the same boat. I have lots of ideas for posts, it’s just here at the end of summer I’m not feeling all that motivated to actually get around to writing them! However, having this pretty new design has definitely given me renewed excitement for blogging, and I’m looking forward to the fashions, recipes, and fun things I have planned for fall!

But in the meantime, I still want to enjoy these last few moments of summer which is why I thought I’d share some of my summer beauty essentials with you today! Living in Tahoe, my beauty routine is pretty low maintainence in the summer and I really don’t wear much (ok, any) makeup most days. However, these 5 products have become my tried and true staples over the past few months:

Untitled #2

 1. Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector
This stuff is the best face sunscreen I’ve ever tried, hands down. It’s very lightweight, helps keeps your face from getting shiny, and it stays on all day. My face hasn’t gotten sunburned once!

2. Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch
While my all-time favorite lip butters are definitely the Sugar lip treatments by Fresh, since they’re packaged in metal tubes they tend to melt when you leave them in sun too long plus they are a little pricey. Baby Lips by Maybelline is a great summer solution because it’s cheap, it doesn’t melt in your beach bag, it’s got SPF 20, and I absolutely adore this bright pink color for summer.

3. Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
This bronzer has a bit of gold shimmer to it, and I absolute love how it looks with a tan.

4. Moroccanoil Oil Treatment/Light Oil Treatment
My hair is currently the longest it’s been in ages, and one of the main reasons I haven’t gone and gotten it trimmed yet is because using Moroccan Oil has done wonders on reducing split/dry ends! I use the normal Moroccan Oil on the ends of my hair when I get out of the shower, and then if I’m blowdrying it I’ll use just a bit of the Moroccan Oil for light-colored hair to help tame flyaways. Plus, I’m addicting to the smell of Moroccan Oil, it’s the best.

5. Kate Somerville Anti Bac Clearing Lotion
I have (very) acne prone skin…which is awesome at age 25 (not), but hey, it is what it is. However, this lotion has done wonders for my complexion over the past few months and I’m totally obsessed. I put it on at night after washing my face (and sometimes in the morning too) and it’s really helped keep breakouts at bay. Plus, I feel like the tube lasts for a really long time…I bought it back in April and have basically used the same tube all summer and only had get a new tube a few weeks ago!

So tell me, what are some of your favorite summer beauty essentials?

And speaking of summer, I’m also guest posting today over at Then I Got To Thinking and I’m talking about my five favorite Tahoe summertime activities…be sure to check it out!

I think that about wraps it up for me today, and I need to get my butt in gear! I’ve got some things to wrap up for work (as always!) and then Cam and I are headed out later this afternoon to go camping in the Redwoods. I’m so excited as I’ve been looking forward to going camping all summer, and I’m looking forward to checking it off my summer to-do list. I can’t wait to see the tall trees, make s’mores, relax out in nature, and just unplug.

See you Monday! Xoxo
