Downtown Garden Brunch

Happy Monday Tuesday everyone!
It’s hard to believe that summer is over, but I had an awesome long weekend! I’ll have more on that next week, but for now I’m enjoying being home in Michigan since Cameron and I are here until this upcoming weekend. In the meantime, I’ve got a few Portland posts to share with you this week!
Last month, we had brunch at place downtown that is a Portland institution. Veritable Quandary has been open since the 1970’s and they have a lovely outdoor patio, which is I wanted to make sure we went while it was still warm enough to sit outside. I had heard great things about their brunch and they were all true; the coffee was great, the dishes we tried were fantastic, and the patio was gorgeous!
Cam ordered the Chilaquiles and the presentation was beautiful
I consider myself somewhat of an Eggs Benedict connoisseur, and VQ’s execution was perfect. The standouts were the homemade English muffin and the house-smoked pork loin–so good!

Both the food and the ambience at Veritable Quandry were excellent, and it’s probably one of the best brunches we’ve tried anywhere. It is a little on the pricey side for Portland, but I think that it’s worth it considering how beautiful their patio is. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in Portland!

we went this weekend at your instagram recommendation and ben ordered the eggs benedict – but his poached egg were cooked through! i ordered the johnny cakes which i didn't love, but i blame my choice. we also hadn't made a reservation (who knew that was a brunch thing?!) and had to sit in the bar. all in all, not a great experience and so i'm jealous of your meals above! the chiquilantes look awesome. we will have to give it another go sometime soon!
