I just recently finished reading Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler and absolutely loved this book. I’m a big fan of historical fiction in general, and have always been intrigued by the 1920’s as I find it to be such an interesting period in American history. Last year, I read and really enjoyed The Paris Wife, which was a fictionalized biography written from the perspective of Ernest Hemingway’s first wife Hadley. I had heard that Z was written in a very similar style, which is one of the things that got me interested in reading it. Plus, after re-reading The Great Gatsby earlier this year, I was curious to find out more about this Jazz Age couple that captured America’s attention. Z does an excellent job of telling the Fitzgeralds’ love story (albeit very tumultuous at times) and I found Zelda to be such a fascinating character that the author so vividly brought to life. I’d highly suggest checking out this book if you’re looking for a captivating read this fall!
