My Perfect Pairing + Spring Reads

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I don’t do too
many sponsored posts and it has to be something that I feel strongly about. That’s why when Ghirardelli reached out to see if I’d be interested in partnering, I jumped at the chance! I am a big fan of the brand (and I have visited Ghirardelli Square in SF a number of times!) and regularly buy their chocolate. That’s why I’m really excited to share about Ghirardelli’s Perfect Pairings!

Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate is an awesome indulgence that can be enjoyed with so many different things, and Ghirardelli actually has a bunch of resources on their website on how to create the perfect pairing. Learn how to pair chocolate with food and wine, get party planning tips, and then you can actually upload a picture of your perfect pairing!

When I
was thinking about what my perfect pairing would be, the first thing
that came to mind was enjoying some chocolate while relaxing with a good
book. I love reading, but unfortunately it’s something that I really
don’t make as much time for as I’d like. But the idea of sitting outside
in the sun (the weather in Portland this week is
amazing!) or laying on the couch with a great book and a bar (or two!)
of dark chocolate sounds pretty amazing. When I was going through our
bookshelf, I realized that we still own quite a few books that I’ve been meaning to read for a long time now, but still haven’t. This spring, I’d
really like to be more intentional about making some time to relax and
make time for reading – and if I pair it with some Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate, even better!

I love the Ghirardelli Intense Dark 72% Twilight Delight because it’s simple, classic, and really smooth. I am a dark chocolate fan and this is definitely one of my
Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate
actually comes in quite a few other delicious flavors as well, including my
personal favorite, Sea Salt Soiree. This stuff is the perfect blend of
salty and sweet and I really like the added crunchy texture from the roasted almonds.

In addition to reading some books I already own, there are also quite a few others on my radar that I’d love to read as well this spring. I am obsessed with my Kindle Paperwhite and have a running list of book titles to download. Here are a few the books at the top of my list this spring:
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty

An afternoon spent enjoying delicious Ghirardelli Chocolate and diving into a novel sounds so heavenly and it’s definitely my perfect pairing!
What about you?

I have Twilight Delight in my pantry right now- love it! I guess I'll have to sit down with my latest book and enjoy chocolate and reading like you suggested. 🙂

We just read Me Before You for book club and it was so good- keep tissues handy! Our next book is Where'd You Go Bernadette? Also, both Mr. Penumbra's & What Alice Forgot will be upcoming titles for our group! Seems like these are some popular titles, which makes me excited to read them all.

I have to have some chocolate every day! I prefer dark myself. I find even the good brands of milk chocolate just too sweet for my palate nowadays. I like to pair chocolate with a satisfying workout. I'll eat a square or two BEFORE, just for an extra kick of energy and off I go!
Ghiradelli i particular is sooooo yummy. Love this post!

Ohhh man, we have no chocolate in the house at the moment. This is certainly going to have to be fixed asap! I'm currently reading Living Yoga by Christy Turlington and a birth book called Mindful Birthing by Nancy Bardacke. Both are so good! Lately I've been loving that I can check out library books on my iPad via the kindle app. It makes me feel like I'm book shopping without having to spend any money. Win win!
