Happy Friday everyone!
Hard to believe but the end of June is (almost) here and 2014 is half over…gahhhh.
June was a pretty good month but I’ll admit, I’m ready for July. We’ve had some gloomy weather here the past few days, so I’m ready for sunshine and summer weather to return. Even though it’s not quite the end of June, I thought I’d go ahead and share the things I’ve been loving this month!
St. Honore Boulangerie
I’m a huge fan of this charming French bakery, and I love that one of their locations is within walking distance of our house! I was invited to an event earlier this month to celebrate St. Honore’s cider cocktail menu, as they have a really extensive cider selection on draft that they get quite creative with! I wasn’t drinking obviously (Cam had my cocktails for me!) but I did enjoy all the delicious food. Definitely one of my go-to spots in our neighborhood!

Standard protocol at a blogger event…ha!
So many delicious baked goods!
Looking forward to having a pastry on their lovely patio on a sunny day soon!
Orange is the New Black
Cam and I watched Season 2 of OITNB this month, and honestly, I have mixed feelings on it…but I still liked it enough to include it in this month’s favorites. The first season of the show was such a hit because it was so scandalous and surprising, and I liked how each episode left you with a cliff hanger that kept you wanting more. At the same time, I thought there was a lot of more explicit material in the first season that was simply there just for shock value. In contrast, I thought that the second season was much softer. On the one hand, it seemed a little more boring and like nothing was really happening from episode to episode. At the same time, it was really interesting to learn more about the inmates and see their relationships evolve and deepen. I liked that the whole Vee story line wrapped up in the last episode, and I’ll be curious to see how they can keep the show going…

Revlon Topaz Eyeliner
I know I just did a giant drugstore makeup post earlier this week, but I had an item that I didn’t include that I wanted to share with you today. I picked up this Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Topaz earlier this month and I’ve really been enjoying it! I don’t know if it’s something that will stay in my normal rotation, but it’s definitely great for the summer. It’s much less harsh than black liner, it compliments blue eyes and makes them pop, and works especially well with bronze-y makeup looks.
Last summer, I bought a pair of Sanuk Yoga Mat flip flops and I absolutely love them and have gotten a ton of wear out of them. My mom recently purchased their
Yoga Sling sandals in black, but ended up giving them to me when I was in Michigan last month after she saw how much I loved them. (Thanks Mom!) Their
Yoga Sling sandals have the same ultra-cushy footbed that’s made out of yoga mat material, but they include these fabric slings that secure your foot; I think it makes them a little more dressy than flip flops (albeit in a slightly hippie-ish way) and they’re so comfortable to walk in! I have been wearing them non-stop since I got home from Michigan, and they’re my new favorite sandals!
Portland Bee Balm
I picked this stuff up earlier this month, and it’s definitely been awesome for my pregnancy dry lips! It’s made with beeswax from local bees here in Southeast Portland, and it’s flavored with Oregon Mint, which I love! They sell it at a bunch of different stores around town, so definitely check it out if you live in Portland! (The photo is from the Portland Bee Balm site, just FYI)
Our Realtors
We’ve been in our house for almost two months now (whattttt – pictures will come eventually…
promise!) and we’re really happy with how everything worked out. So that’s why it was so much fun to catch up with
our realtors this week now that the stress of house hunting is behind us! They had a really fantastic client appreciation party at the
White Owl Social Club that Cam and I attended earlier this week, and it turned out to be such a fun event! They had a great band and food/swag from local vendors. If you’re looking for a realtor in Portland, I’d highly suggest the team of
Martin & Moore!

Beatles Pandora
For whatever reason, I’ve been on a big Beatles kick this month. So when in the kitchen cooking, I always have my Beatles Pandora station going – it plays all my favorite Beatles songs, along with lots of other old music that’s perfect for summer nights.
Undateable
Summer TV is really the worst and there are so many dumb shows on right now. And this show is no different, it’s really
really dumb…but it’s also pretty funny. It’s kind of raunchy and silly, but some of the characters are pretty hilarious and I’m surprised how much it makes Cam and I laugh. Plus, the real reason we even started watching it in the first place is because it’s set in Detroit, and the characters are always wearing Michigan/Red Wings stuff, and of course I get a big kick out of that!
Nars Tinted Moisturizer in ‘Alaska’
This was another makeup product that I left out of my ‘Splurge’ post earlier this month, but I wanted to share it because I’ve been loving it in June! The coverage is surprisingly good for being a tinted moisturizer, and it has SPF 30 sunscreen, which is awesome if you’re going to be outside. It’s definitely not something I’d wear everyday, but I recently wore it hiking and didn’t get sunburned at all, so I know I’ll be using it more as the summer goes on.
TJ’s Mini Mint Ice Cream Mouthfuls
I picked these up at Trader Joe’s the other day after trying them at a friend’s house when we went to Michigan last month and they’re really tasty! I love mint, I love Oreos, so this is kind of like the perfect bite of both. Plus, they’re small enough so you can have a couple 🙂
What about you? What have you been loving this month?
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
