Don’t get me wrong, I love Portland.
Actually, I’m borderline obsessed with Portland and I really enjoy living here.
Plus, I’m super excited to stay home more this summer and enjoy our new house! (Hopefully I’ll be posting some more photos of it sometime soon, I just haven’t had a chance yet!) I’m can’t wait to get some home projects accomplished over the next few months, and I’m looking forward to cooking more in my new kitchen and entertaining family and friends.
All that being said, I still need to travel.
As much as I love being home, this constant desire that I have to get out and experience new places will always be there. I love the anticipation of getting ready for a trip, and even if it’s just a few days somewhere close by. Plus because I work from home, I welcome the chance to travel as much as possible because I enjoy having a change of scenery every once and a while.
This summer, and actually for the remainder of this year, we won’t be taking any major international trips like we did last year (here and here). Between Cam’s work travel and the house, we’re not really going to have time for a big trip this year, plus we are already planning on taking a vacation to Europe next summer for my sister’s wedding (which I’m already super pumped about). So a lot of our travel this summer will probably be shorter weekend trips closer to home, but I’m really excited about! Being I’m still a fairly new Oregon resident, there is still so much within driving distance of Portland that I haven’t seen yet, plus the weather in the Pacific Northwest in the summer is fantastic!
Here are the places on my list for this summer:

I don’t know if we’re going to be able to find the time to go here or not this summer, but I would absolutely love to. After living in Tahoe for a year and half, it will always hold a special place in my heart and honestly, there is nowhere like Tahoe in the summer.

So this is the big question mark of the summer. We have a wedding in Philly in the middle of August that we’re definitely going to, but then Cam has a work trip planned to go to Boston at the end of July. I’ve been dying to go to Boston for awhile, but the two events aren’t really close enough to each other to combine it in to one trip, plus flying to the East Coast is a pretty long/expensive flight from Portland, so I don’t know if doing it twice in a month makes sense. And then on top of that, I’d like to visit my sister in NYC if possible, but she’s got a lot of travel on her calendar this summer as well and may be out of town when we’re on the East Coast. We’re still trying to figure out the logistics for this, but in a perfect world, I’d love make it to all three places. We’ll see…

The Oregon Coast
Since moving to Oregon, I’ve really grown to enjoy going out to the ocean and it’s amazing that’s it’s so close! I’ve definitely spent the most time around Cannon Beach/Seaside, so this summer I’d like to check out some other towns along the coast as well!

What about you? Any travel plans for the summer? I’d love to hear!
