Hello, hello! Long time, no blog! 🙂
I am finally back home from our trip to the East Coast, and I can’t wait to share some photos from that soon! In the meantime, I’m getting really pumped for an upcoming event here in Portland!
Last year, I had the honor of receiving a blogger pass for Feast Portland, but I had no idea what to expect. All I knew is that it was a big four-day food festival here in Portland and it looked like it was going to be fun. I got the chance to speak with one of Feast’s founders, Carrie Welch, prior to the event, but I still didn’t really know what it was going to be like. However, it ended up being such an amazing experience! All the events I attended were so well-done and such a wonderful celebration of what makes Portland (and Oregon) such a great food scene. That’s why I’m extremely excited to announce that I’ll be attending Feast again this year!
The first day of Feast 2014 is now less than one month away (crazy!) and many of the events taking place over the four days (Sept. 18th-Sept 21st) are already sold out! (Which is a testament to just how awesome they are!) However, there are still lots of great tickets available and I wanted to highlight a few of the events from this year’s schedule that caught my eye:
I didn’t attend this event last year, but I heard AWESOME things about it! Basically it’s a sandwich making competition on steroids where 14 chefs compete to come up with the most imaginative creations. This event takes place in Director Park on Thursday 9/18 from 6-9pm and it’s definitely one to get tickets for ASAP!
This is one of the dinner series events and pretty much sounds like a dream come true. A bunch of amazing chefs making an entire meal out of dessert – definitely worth checking out! This one is also on Thursday, and it starts at 7pm.
This is one of Feast’s main events and one I’d DEFINITELY suggest getting tickets to! It takes place in Pioneer Square on both Friday and Saturday, and it’s such a great overview of what Feast is all about. There are so many awesome restaurants, wineries, and breweries all in one place and the all-inclusive ticket allows you to sample everything. I went last year and loved it – don’t miss this one!
There are lots of awesome sounding tasting panels on this year’s Feast lineup, but this one sounds especially intriguing because I love sour beers. Obviously, I won’t be partaking this year but you should probably buy a ticket to this tasting panel and have a sour beer in my honor 🙂
I didn’t attend this event last year, but I am going this year and I CAN’T WAIT. This is one of Feast’s main events, and it’s taking place at the Nines Hotel, which is the perfect setting for an event that’s all about decadence. 20 chefs from both Portland and other top cities are putting their unique spin on “comfort food” and I’m excited to see what they’ll come up with!

There are lots of other great tasting panels and hands-on classes that still have tickets available, so check the schedule to purchase tickets ASAP before even more events sell out! And be sure to follow Feast on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for all the latest news leading up to the event!
