I honestly haven’t even had a chance to download any of the photos from our camera since he was born, and I’m hoping to sit down and write out his birth story soon. But in the meantime, I thought I’d share some of the photos I took before he was born of our house decorated for Christmas! We really didn’t do too much in terms of decorations this year since we were more focused on getting ready for the baby. But since this is our first Christmas in our new house, it’s special and I wanted to document how things looked this year as I’m sure it will continue to evolve over future Christmases!
By the way, our fur baby is adjusting really well to Henry’s arrival for those of you wondering! She spent some time over at Cam’s parents’ house while we were in the hospital and after we first got home, but she’s been really great, albeit not super interested, when it comes to the baby so far!
One of the things I told Cameron that was really important to me this year was to get some Christmas lights up on the house before the baby came. He and my dad put them up after Thanksgiving and I’m really happy with how they turned out! We may change them up for future Christmases, but for now it’s so cozy to be able to turn them on at night when we’re sitting inside with the baby 🙂
Another new Christmas addition this year is this gorgeous print from Lindsay Letters!
O Holy Night is one of my favorite Christmas carols and I absolutely love it 🙂
Another thing I love about the holidays is sending Christmas cards (here’s our card for this year ICYMI!) and I really wanted a cute way to display them. I came across this tutorial on Pinterest recently and my handy husband was sweet enough to make it for me before the baby came!
I love how it turned out, and it’s been fun adding even more cards since I took these photos!
One of the things I love about our house is the these built-ins, but wasn’t really sure how I wanted to style them. I just displayed some things we had, including our nativity set from our trip to Israel, and called it a day. Next year, I think I’ll add a garland or do something to make it a little more festive!
As far as stockings, I did pick up this one for baby Henry to use this year because I couldn’t resist! However, one of my projects for next Christmas is to get (or make) new stockings for our family that we’ll be able to have for years to come…but I wasn’t going to worry about that this Christmas!
And I do feel a little bit like a bad dog mom because sweet Lola doesn’t even have a stocking…so as consolation I thought she deserved a few more pictures in this post 🙂
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!
