Over the past few months…well, since Henry was born really…I’ve been somewhat absent from this space compared to how much I used to blog in the past. And honestly I go back and forth between being frustrated about not having more time to blog the way I’d like and really just not caring at all because I’m focused on other things right now. There’s a part of me that’s wondered whether I should just step away from blogging altogether for the time being…because if I don’t have the time I’d like to devote to this, is it worth doing at all? But every time I think about just quitting blogging cold turkey, it makes me really sad! Plus, I feel like that’s being a tad dramatic…ha. After all, the whole reason I started this blog in the first place was to give myself a creative outlet and it’s brought a lot of great opportunities and relationships into my life. I don’t want to just cut myself off from something I do really enjoy, and so this post is not a farewell. I know, you’re probably so relieved right? Ha 🙂
From a practical standpoint though, part of the reason I haven’t blogged as much over the past month specifically is because I’ve been having some irritating technical issues, as you may or may not have noticed. My domain name (which I purchased from GoDaddy) expired at the end of July (I think because the credit card they had on file was expired and so it couldn’t auto-renew) and even though I went and renewed it, it seems to have caused some issues. About half the time I try to go to my blog on either my computer or my phone, I get a message saying the website is temporarily unavailable, and I’ve received some Instagram comments that many of you have probably had the same issue. The annoying part is that I don’t get that error message all the time, and if I refresh the page once or twice, I’m always able to get to the site. So I have quite a few posts lined up that I’m planning on sharing, but I just didn’t want to put them up until I have this whole technical issue resolved.
But today is a new month and very I’m excited for the season ahead. Even though I haven’t been in school for awhile now, there is always something so motivating about this time of year because it always feels like a fresh start. Right now, I definitely have renewed excitement not only for blogging, but also for lots of other things in my life that I’ve kind of let slide this summer. It’s been hot in Portland these past few months, and so it’s made things like working out or cooking or getting projects down around the house extremely unappealing. But thankfully this week, we’re having some cool rainy weather and I’m loving it! I’m looking forward to tackling lots of things on my to-do list over the next few weeks, heck, I might even go for a run today that’s how pumped I am! (Obviously that will be documented on Instagram if it happens…stay tuned…)
So here’s to taking September by the horns and making things happen this month!
(Insert fist bump emoji here) And thank you so much for everyone that has continued to follow along with me here, your continued support and understanding is extremely appreciated 🙂
