Fashion Friday: Summer Sales!

Good morning! I’m currently chilling with Lola in our hotel room and I just got a text from Cam that said he thinks they are going to be able to fix the issue with the Jeep so we can get back on the road…yay! And double yay for the fact that I actually got up this morning and worked out! The workout room here was severely lacking (one 100 year old elliptical, one none working treadmill, and no weights all stuffed in a room by the pool with no ventilation) so I ended up taking Lolz on a 30 minute brisk walk and then completed the circuit I did on Tuesday from the comfort of my hotel room. It was a great way to start the morning, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a good day!

Now on to Fashion Friday! I’m linking up with Blonde Episodes because I thought it would be the perfect chance to talk about some of the great deals that I got while shopping in Michigan. Right now is the perfect time to take advantage of killer sales as stores start clearing out their summer merchandise to make room for fall clothes. There is still a lot of summer left (especially down South), plus a lot of times you can pick up pieces that can easily be transitioned in to fall. It seemed as if every store I went in to was having a sale where you get to take an additional 30-40% off the sale merchandise, aka deep discounts at J.Crew, Gap, Banana, Ann Taylor Loft, etc. Here are some of the things I picked up at Partridge Creek:

Don’t make fun of my clothing picture; I was trying to play around with our new camera and figure out some more of the settings…I still have a lot I need to learn!

I found an adorable plaid boy shirt from J.Crew (I got a different color than on the website though) for $14, a cute denim dress from Gap for $20, and then some shorts, a dress, and a sheer blouse from Ann Taylor Loft all for $60! Love when I can score good deals like that! I also got a couple really adorable dresses at H&M for $5-$10 each, but I didn’t get a picture of those. Moral of the story, get out and shop because now is the time when you can score some awesome bargains!

My photography skills are improving eh? And yes, my room at home is bright pink 🙂

Another purchase I’m super excited about is Fresh Sugar Honey Lip Treatment my mom got for me at Sephora. I. am. obsessed. To say the least. I previously professed my love for the Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment that I got in my stocking this Christmas, but I just ran out, and I was planning on just getting the Rose shade again. However, when I saw this new Honey shade I decided to go with that instead and I’m so glad I did because it’s the perfect warm nude for summer. It’s moisturizing, it’s got SPF 15, and just the perfect hint of color. It’s a little pricey but it’s definitely worth the splurge!

Lastly, I had the opportunity to stop in and see our fashionable family friend Lisi at her boutique Ella Fashion in Oxford, Michigan. My sister interned at her store a few summers ago, and she carries many really unique feminine pieces, many of which are her designs. I got a really cute blush colored dress from her, and then modeled a few of her other pieces. She’s got a great blog with some fashion tips, and I encourage you to stop by her store if you’re ever in Oakland County! (Also I believe you can order things via her website!) Here are a few pics of me modeling some of her new designs! (Courtesy of Ella Fashion’s FB page)

Well, Cam is back with the fixed Jeep so it’s time to hit the road! See ya in Colorado and happy Friday to everyone!! xoxo
