I could spend hours in Sephora, and I love trying out any kind of beauty product. I’m such a marketer’s dream because anytime I hear of a new mascara or any other “innovative” product comes out, I totally get suckered in to buying it. Every time. When I was kid, my mom said I always had to get a new pack of markers or crayons every time we went to the store. I feel the same way now when I see bright nail polishes or lip glosses, I can’t resist all the beautiful colors. I also love how makeup can make you feel more confident and helps adds that extra bit of polish to your look. I love the high end brands at Sephora, but I also love drugstore brands as well. The beauty junkie in me has been wanting to do a post showcasing my favorite products for quite some time now, and seeing as we’re already over a month in to 2012 I figured I better get to it! Here’s a look inside my makeup bag…
I absolutely adore the brush on this mascara, it’s great for separating and volumizing lashes
There’s a reason this palette is so popular, the colors are perfect and very pigmented
3. Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eye Shadow Primer
Great for helping eyeshadow stay on longer and making them look more shimmery
4. Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner in Midnight Master
I don’t wear eye liner often, but I like the blendability (and the price) of this one
5. Lorac Eye Shadow in Serenity
This shimmery copper is perfect if you have blue eyes
6. Relvon Photo Ready Foundation in Nude (#4)
I first bought this foundation back at Thanksgiving and it’s a steal for how well it covers
7. Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation in Soft Sand (#120)
I’d highly recommend this foundation because it covers beautifully and the colors seamlessly match any skin tone (but the Relvon foundation is almost as good for much less)
8. Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in Light (#2) & Light Medium (#3)
I really like coverage of this creamy concealer; I use #2 under my eyes and keep number #3 in my purse for breakouts/skin touch-ups
9. Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation in E40
I bought this stuff in the summer, and it’s extremely heavy. So it’s not great for using over your entire face, but it’s wonderful for covering a pimple as it’s super pigmented and thick, because let me tell you adult acne is awesome.
10. Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder
This stuff is amazing! It’s great for setting your makeup and reducing shine without adding pigment. Since I have oily skin, a lot of times the oil will darken the pigment in normal powder making my face look dirty so I love that this is colorless becaues I can touch up my makeup later on in the day.
*I didn’t include a fountation primer in this post because I don’t have a favorite…but I like this one, this one, and this one*
11. Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
I love the color of this bronzer, it’s not to orange, not too brown and just the right touch of shimmer
12. Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blush in Mocha Pink
I love this soft pink color it adds the perfect flush to cheeks and I like that it has a slight brown undertown, which keeps it from being too bright on my pale winter skin
13. Benefit High Beam
This is stuff helps give skin a lit-from-within glow, and it’s perfect for perking up pale winter skin…just a few dots on top of blush or bronzer is the perfect highlight
14. Tarte 24.7 Natural Lip Sheer in Thursday
A creamy rose lip color with SPF 15, it’s brightens up your face without being too bright (if that makes sense)
15. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey
I’ve posted about these guys before, but I’m seriously obsessed. I’ve loved all the colors I’ve tried, Honey is hands down my favorite. I realize that $23 for a glorified chapstick is a little excessive but these things are so incredibly buttery, it’s totally worth it.
16. Revlon ColorStay Mineral Lip Glaze in Perpetual Plum
A great shimmery, pigmented gloss that’s a very wearable color
(I didn’t include nail polish in this post because I have way too many colors that I love!)
I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my makeup bag! I’ll admit, now that I’m working from home I tend not to wear makeup unless we’re doing something that would actually involve me changing out of my yoga pants that I seem to be sporting on a daily basis. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t still absolutely love makeup/beauty products…mine just last a little longer now that I’m not using them every single day!
Now I’d love to hear from you, what’s in your makeup bag? What products do you adore that I need to know about? Share them with me!
Also, today is the last day to enter my necklace giveaway from Shabby Apple! Go enter now, you have until midnight tonight {EST}! Winner will be announced tomorrow morning! Xoxo
PS: Have y’all seen this video? It keeps popping up on my Facebook newsfeed, so I thought I’d share it here. I love Kristen Bell, but after I saw this I think I might love her just a little bit more!
