It’s Thursday, hooray! Only one more day before the weekend…woo!
It’s been over 3 weeks since I left for my trip to NYC, so I thought it was high time that I share the photos! I need to preface this post by saying that I just straight up
love New York City. It’s one of my absolute favorite places in the entire world and I had the
best week there. I love the energy and fall in love a little bit more every time that I visit. While I realize that it’s not in the cards for Cam and I to live there (and I’m pretty sure I would get sick of it/have a mental breakdown after awhile if we did) I’m
so glad that my sister lives there because it gives me an excuse to come visit! I was originally planning to break my photos up into multiple posts…buttt I
decided to do one massive photo dump instead.
Enjoy!

I flew in Sunday night on the red-eye from Sacramento, so I got in early Monday morning and headed to my sister’s apartment…My parents flew in early Tuesday morning, and my mom didn’t know that I was in NYC. It was so fun to surprise her at my parents’ hotel, she was shocked! |

Having breakfast at the diner underneath my sister’s apartment |
Fro-yo with my parents at 16 Handles after our Italian dinner on their first night in the city! |
While my sister showed my parents around, I worked from their hotel room which was close to Times Square |
While it was kind of annoying to be working while I was there, at the same time I’m really happy I have a job that I can do from anywhere because it allows me to travel more! |
Times Square by day… |
…and by night! |
Getting ready to head to a Broadway show! |
Family |
We went to go see How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and it was a great show! My whole family loved it and I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the city!
Nick Jonas was awesome as J. Pierrepont Finch, I laughed out loud so many times! |
Seriously, he is precious. Love you littlest Jo Bro. |

Parentals |
I had to pick up a slice of Junior’s cheesecake after the show…it’s so delicious! |
My parents were only in town for a few days, so after they left, my sister and I had some time to spend together which was a lot of fun. She took me to this CRAZY Indian food restaurant in the East Village that had lights everywhere. |
Samosas…yum! |
I ordered butter chicken…and literally got served chicken with a mini stick of butter…it was delicious! |
The restaurant is next to a bunch of similar Indian restaurants, but supposedly where we ate (Panna II) is the best! |
Melissa’s apartment is right by Union Square… |
…even though these pictures were taken on a cloudy day, it’s such a fun area! |
There was a farmer’s market going on a few days that I was there, and it was fun to do a little exploring…this was one of the only overcast days during my trip, overall the weather was warm and beautiful! |
Even though the weather was a little gloomy on this particular day, it was very apparent that spring has arrived in NYC! |
Andy Warhol Monument |
Because I was working during the week while I was in NYC, I’d usually run out and just grab something quick for lunch. I love that there are so many little deli/restaurants/mini-grocery stores where you can get whatever kind of food you want at any time of day! |
One of my favorite parts of NYC? The abundance of cheap mani/pedi places! Melissa and I went to get our nails done when I finished with work Friday…I don’t remember the names of these colors but I loved the lilac that I got on my nails, perfect for spring! I got the darker shimmery periwinkle on my toes |
Just casually taking awkward photos… |
Muahaha. |
My fat feet. Blah. |
End of our French dinner and beginning of our night out in the Meatpacking District |
Love a new mani! The color looks a little muted in this pic, but it was definitely very spring-y! |
I didn’t have my camera with me so the only pic I got of Melissa and I during our night out was this crappy cell phone one…oh well. |
Cute pic of Melissa and Ben |
Gorgeous weather on the morning of St. Patrick’s Day! It seemed like everything was in bloom! |

We went over to my friend Dani’s for brunch on St. Patty’s day…and started the day off with the classiest of beverages for our mimosas! Ha. |
So fun to spend St. Patty’s Day together again, even if it wasn’t quite as crazy as the old days at U of M! |
My
friend Kristine from college was there too, rocking her U of M gear… |
…and she brought Baked by Melissa cupcakes, some of my favorite in NYC! 🙂 |
Melissa and
her friend Ruben joined us for brunch |
And I got to meet Dani’s new super nice BF! |
Nice to have some girl time! |
Adorable hipsters |
Love the NYC Public Library |
Lots of people in town for St. Patty’s Day! |

Eataly is only a few blocks from my sister’s apartment, and it was fun to finally check it out! |
The brainchild of Mario Batalli, Eataly is sort of like half amazing restaurant/espresso bar/gelato shop, half gourmet food shop/meat market/incredible bakery |
If you like Italian food, definitely check this place out if you’re in NYC! |
Sunday morning, we went to go see my friend Kristine who was running in the NYC Half Marathon which finished at the South Street Seaport…it was so cool to see all the runners! |

Stopping to get coffee…and a pastry…obviously |

Melissa took me to a fabulous brunch spot in Soho that I cannot remember the name of |
Fueling up for shopping! |
All the food at this place was delicious! |
We did lots of shopping in Soho, and one of the stores I was most excited to check out was C.Wonder! |
This preppy paradise is the brainchild of Tory Burch’s ex-husband, and everything was actually super reasonably priced…love. |
Looking back at these pictures is already making me eager to go back to NYC, I had such an amazing week there. It was great seeing my parents and surprising my mom, I had so much fun spending time with my girlfriends from college, and it was awesome to get to spend a whole week with my sister. I’ll hopefully definitely be going back very soon! I’ll be back tomorrow with more photos…from Napa! Xoxo
