Happy Monday everyone!
We had such a great time in San Francisco this weekend…but if you
follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that. I may have gone a
little overboard with Instagram this weekend, but you know what?
Sorry I’m not sorry.
I love Instagram. I love being able to quickly and creatively share a little snapshots as well as see other people’s photos. I only rarely post my Instagram photo to Facebook, and I don’t have Instagram connected with my Twitter (which I rarely use if ever). For me it’s like my guilty pleasure form of social media where I can just post as much as I want and have fun with it. If you want to
follow me, awesome. If you’re like this chick is blowing up my Instagram feed with her stupid photos, then don’t. Your choice.
One of the other reasons I posted so many Instagram photos this weekend is because I love how easy it is to just pop them right into a blog post. I know I said awhile back I was going to try to reserve my blog for photos I take with my actual camera and then just have Instagram be for random little moments here and there and not try to share as many of them on my blog. I do feel like it can get really redundant when a blogger only posts Instagram photos in their posts because it’s like if you already follow them on Instagram, then you’ve already seen all the photos before. However, sometimes I have to break my own rules, and so this post is all Instagram pics because, well, it’s my blog and I do what I want! Plus, I didn’t even bring our DSLR to San Francisco this weekend because I didn’t feel like lugging it around during our jam-packed two days there. So without further adieu, here is our weekend in SF as seen through my cell phone:
{The reason we went to SF this weekend is for The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival! It was a three day free event in Golden Gate park with an eclectic selection of musicians…I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area!} |
{The weather in SF this weekend was PERFECT!} |
{They had a lot of gourmet food options to choose from…these chimichurri garlic fries were out of this world!} |
{There were five stages spread throughout the park that had different performances all day} |
{SF is famous for it’s Sourdough, but I’d never heard of it in beignet form…so of course we had to try them!} |
{My husband’s friend Aaron who went to U of M with us lives in Reno, so he came out to the festival with us for the weekend…and just loved my incessant photo taking…not} |
{Golden Gate Park is so pretty} |
{Watching one of our favorite bands right now–The Lumineers!} |
{Their performance had a huge turnout, thanks in large part to the fact that one of their songs is on an Apple commercial right now…we were laughing at all the hipsters around us recording the performance with their new Iphone 5’s…the irony} |
{Refueling with my favorite Colorado beer} |
{Blurry pic with my front facing camera} |
{The last performance we saw on Saturday was Steve Earle…the people watching at this thing was awesome, lots and lots of hippies of all ages!} |
{I felt like a walking blogger cliche with my bubble necklace, my chambray shirt, my burgundy skinnies, and my boots but I totally loved it….yay for fall clothes!} |
{Saturday night was really fun because I got to meet up with a girl, Jessica, that works for my company! Because I work remotely, I’ve only met a few people that actually work for my company as everyone is spread out across the US. Jessica’s boyfriend lives in San Francisco so she happened to be visiting him and we all went and got drinks here and then had dinner here…it was a really fun night and it was so cool to finally meet her in person!} |
{View from our hotel Sunday morning} |
{We had originally planned to go back to Hardly Strictly on Sunday, but since it was also fleet week in SF, we decided to check out some of the events for that instead} |
{We had breakfast at a really cute place called The Grove on Sunday morning} |
{This place had an awesome modern rustic trendy casual vibe that I just loved} |
{So cute…there are four locations in SF, so I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a good place to eat!} |
{Cam’s pretty french toast…that I had to take a picture of before he could take a bite, ha} |
{After breakfast, we headed to the Ferry Building to check out the market…it’s one of my favorite places in SF!} |
{We walked (and walked and walked) up the Embarcadero since it was so beautiful out and of course we had to make a stop at TCHO, I love their chocolates and their overall branding} |
{The Fisherman’s Wharf area was even more packed than normal with all the people in town for Fleet Week!} |
{There were air shows going on all day Sunday, and so we sat down in front of Ghirardelli Square and watched the planes for awhile…Cam and Aaron were loving it!} |
{We kept walking towards the marina, and we stopped off at the Fort Mason Farmer’s Market which was awesome! They had tons of beautiful flowers and lots of organic produce, had we not been walking around all day, I totally would have bought some things!} |
{Heading to watch the America’s Cup sailboat race!} |
{So apparently America’s Cup is a really big deal? There were tons of people there for the race} |
{Watching the sailboats} |
{Watching them race was really fascinating!} |
{Louis Vuitton was one of the main sponsors…LOL} |
{Gorgeous fall day} |
{For all the times we’ve come to SF, I’ve never had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl so Sunday afternoon we stopped off at Boudin to get one…delish!} |
{Not a cloud in the sky!} |
{Sunday I wore my gray Converse, skinnies, and a scarf (along with a navy sweater) and it was nice not to feel out of place wearing my Chucks because everyone wears them in SF…in Tahoe people look at me like I’m wearing clown shoes…and by people I mean Cam, ha} |
{As we were heading out of town on Sunday, we decided to stop at the famous Bi-Rite Creamery for ice cream. I’d heard lots of good things about this place…and apparently so has everyone in SF because we had to wait in a 20 minute line!} |
{It was totally worth the wait because the ice cream is some the BEST I’ve ever had. It was so creamy and delicious and I had the hardest time deciding on a flavor because they all looked awesome…so I got three flavors, ha! I got Malted Vanilla w/ milk chocolate and peanut brittle, Honey w/ homemade chocolate-covered graham crackers, and Ricanelas which was cinnamon with homemade snickerdoodle pieces. All three flavors were amazing!} |

This weekend was seriously so much fun, I love San Francisco. It’s such an interesting city with so much character, part of me would love to move there. (The exorbitant rent prices are definitely a downside though…) While I think NYC is still my favorite city, after this weekend San Francisco is definitely a very close second!
Have a great week everyone! Xoxo
