I’ve finally started sorting through all the photos from our travels this month, and I just feel so blessed that we were able to pack in so much quality time with friends and family during our recent vacation! I figured I’d break things up into a few different posts, so here goes!
Although our original reason for booking this trip to Michigan was for my friend Meaghan’s wedding (more on that tomorrow!), the timing worked out really well because we happened to be in town for my cousin Austin’s high school graduation! Austin and I have always been close and he also went to the same high school that I did, so to be able to be there for his graduation was really special. My aunt and uncle had a graduation party for him at their house the weekend we were there, and it was so awesome to be able to spend time with my family, especially since this was our first time back to Michigan since the holidays!

He claims he does not like small dogs, but I think it’s just a front because anytime someone has a small dog he always has to pick it up and hold it–you are not fooling anyone Cameron! 🙂 |

There is never a shortage of food at our family gatherings! |

Love my cousins 🙂 |

We also got to meet my cousin Olivia’s fiance Jake for the first time, so that was another highlight of the weekend! |

All the kids, minus Melissa |
The actual graduation ceremony was held on a Tuesday night, and I’m so glad it worked out for Cam and I to be in Michigan so we could go. It was definitely weird to see some of my old teachers and made me think of my high school graduation…which honestly feels like forever ago! I remember feeling so old when I graduated from high school, and so it was funny to think back on just how much has happened in the past eight years since then!

In addition to being able to attend the graduation/Austin’s grad party, I also got to go to a bridal shower for the fiance of one of our family friends while I was in town. The groom’s mom was actually my mom’s roommate in college, and my aunt and grandma went to the shower as well. Basically any occasion that there is cake, I am in 🙂

Mom and I before the shower…my nail polish was still wet, hence the awkward hands |

We all got really adorable favors that had a delicious sugar cookie with the couple’s wedding date |

We were only in Michigan for a few days, so we weren’t able to spend too much time with our friends this visit. However, we were able to have dinner in downtown Detroit with our good friends Jeff & Laura and we got to see their cutie son, Theo, who has grown so much since we last saw him
at Christmas! (Our friend Neil was there too, totally forgot to get a pic of everyone–oh well!) It was so much fun to catch up and I’m looking forward to seeing more of them when we’re back in Michigan again later this summer!

This picture is a little blurry, but I love it–Theo is such a happy baby! |
Michigan will always be home, and I love getting to spend time with friends and family every time we come back to town. Looking forward to sharing more photos with you soon! Xoxo
