Wedding Season: A Southern Celebration

I know I’ve been going crazy with the photo-heavy posts the past few days, but I’ve just got one more today to recap our recent trip to Michigan/South Carolina!
The reason that we traveled to Charleston in the first place was for my good friend Katie’s wedding, and the wedding was definitely the highlight of the weekend. It was crazy because my friend Meaghan got married in Michigan the weekend before, and almost all of my high school friends who were at that wedding also came down to South Carolina for Katie’s wedding as well. It was so much fun to see all my favorite people two weekends in a row! And then because my family and Katie’s family are good friends, my parents, my aunt & uncle, and Melissa & Ben also attended the wedding as well.
Here are a few photos we snapped outside the church before the ceremony:

Just married!
Katie and Adam had their wedding and reception in Mt. Pleasant, SC and it was such a gorgeous setting. Their reception was held at Alhambra Hall, which was a really cool venue that could not have been more perfect for a Southern wedding. All the details came together really beautifully and we had such a fun evening. I’m so happy for Katie and Adam!
The gorgeous venue, surrounded by palm trees–the wrap around balcony was awesome!
Family 🙂
Ben helping carry our gift–ha!
My sister’s new haircut totally reminded me of Daisy Buchanan and her dress had a low back that went right along with the Great Gatsby vibe–so pretty! My dress was J.Crew and I loved how bright it was!
Mom and Dad looking snazzy
Katie and I in our orange dresses–can’t wait to be her bridesmaid later this summer!
High school friends 🙂
Gorgeous view of the water from the deck
Loved the magnolias everywhere, so pretty!
I loved the style and simplicity of the reception hall, it was a perfect space for the wedding!
Beautiful (and delicious!) wedding cake!
Hilary and Renae’s maid of honor toast
Newlyweds cutting the cake!
Adam and Katie snuck away to get a few photos at sunset, I know they will turn out so beautifully!
Melissa and Cam

The weather was perfect so everyone spent the evening out on the balcony…
…including my parents, Melissa, & Ben 🙂
I mean, really?! Have you seen a more beautiful sunset?! So perfect!
We also saw some dolphins jumping around at one point during the evening which was so cool!
I loved the great views of the Arthur Ravenel bridge, so Charleston 🙂
Me and my handsome date, rockin’ his seersucker blazer 🙂
Hanging out with my aunt and uncle on the balcony
Beautiful couple–can’t wait to come visit them when they move to London!
So happy for you Katie!
My girls (minus Ryanne who couldn’t make it to this wedding)
Such a wonderful weekend with my family!

It was such a lovely wedding, I’m so thrilled that we were able to go! We had a great time in both Charleston and Michigan, and I’m glad we were able to pack in so much time with family and friends in the ten days we were on vacation!

Be sure to come back tomorrow–I’ve got some big news to share! Xoxo
