October Questions

Happy October (a day late) everyone!

I feel like this fall is just flying by already and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. My parents were visiting Portland this weekend and it was a great time having them here, despite the pouring rain we had while they were in town! I’m looking forward to sharing some photos from their visit, but I’m actually headed out of town myself later today for a work trip in Florida and I won’t be back until late Sunday night. Next week, there are three birthdays in Cam’s family (including his 27th birthday!) and I also have some fun blog-related events on the calendar for this month. Speaking of blogging, I still have more photos to share from Feast last weekend, I’ve got quite a few Portland restaurant reviews to write from places we’ve dined at recently, and I’d like to share some photos from our apartment sometime before the new year! So despite not having as much time blog as I’d like right now, life is really good and I am loving this season of fall. I know that I’ll have more time to blog eventually, and so for now I’m just trying to enjoy everything that I’ve got going on!

In the meantime, I have a fun little post to share today! Cherin from Masterfully Me tagged me in her Sunshine Award post earlier this week (thanks Cherin!) and I though that a list post would be the perfect thing for today (especially since I didn’t have time to get my photos from the weekend uploaded yet). For the Sunshine Award, I was supposed to share 11 random facts about myself, answer 11 questions, nominate 11 bloggers, and then share 11 new questions for them to answer. I didn’t exactly follow the rules because my brain was too fried to come up with 11 random facts or 11 new questions…but I did answer the 11 questions that Cherin shared! Here we go…

What is your favorite sound?
Ok, this may sound super cheesy but I love hearing Cameron laugh…and not just like a courtesy chuckle but when he full out laughs at something, it really makes me smile.

Favorite recipe your parents or grandparents taught you.
My grandma has quite a few different recipes that she always makes for get togethers and holidays, like deviled eggs for example, and she makes these things so often that I never think to get the recipe from her…but I need to get all those recipes written down sometime soon!

Have you done any extreme sports (bungee jumping, sky diving) or would you if you had the chance?
I haven’t done anything too extreme, but Cameron and I did ride in a glider and do a lot of skiing while we lived in Tahoe…I would love to go sky diving at some point though!

What place have you always wanted to visit?
Thailand, Nepal, Peru, Croatia, Slovenia, the list goes on and on…

Do you have a guilty pleasure and what is it?
Watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, eating way too much sugar, and staying up way too late.

Name your favorite Halloween candy.
All of them…ha! But my favorite is probably candy corn/mellowcreme pumpkins.
(See guilty pleasures, above)

Paper or Plastic?
My own reusable shopping bag of course…I do live in Portland after all!

Describe your “go to” outfit.

Boots, dark skinny jeans, some sort of a simple top, and a scarf.

What was the best present you ever received?
Well, my engagement ring was a pretty great gift!

Least favorite subject in school?
Math. Definitely math. I’m a words person, not a numbers person.

Sunset or Sunrise?
As much as I love a beautiful sunset, I’d have to go with sunrises – probably because I see them much more rarely it makes them that much more special!

I always enjoy when bloggers do these Q&A type posts because I think you learn a lot about someone by reading their responses. That’s why, I’m nominating ALL of you for the Sunshine Award today!

Feel free to answer these questions that I just answered in your own post, and be sure to leave a comment to let me know if you’re doing it so I can go check out your responses!

Hope everyone is having a great week!
