Happy Monday everyone! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I had a whirlwind weekend filled with lots (and lots and lots…) of delicious food! Feast Portland was this weekend and it was SUCH a blast – I had the best time! I’m still digesting everything from the last few days (literally and figuratively) but I’ll have the first of my recap posts coming up for you tomorrow so stay tuned!

It’s definitely a work in progress, but we’re really enjoying living there so far. Looking at the photos, you can probably tell that I like gray – we have gray curtains, a gray chair, gray pillows, a gray rug, a gray couch, and the list goes on. What can I say, it’s definitely my favorite neutral! And it’s not just our house, as a lot of the maternity clothes that I’ve purchased for fall are…you guessed it, gray! I just think it’s a very flattering color that pairs well with so many things.
That’s why I thought gray would be the perfect focus for today’s Mani Monday! It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these posts; as much as I love painting my nails in the summer, I also like to give myself a break and go sans polish for awhile, especially when I know I’m going to be spending a lot of time outside. But now that we’re transitioning into fall, it seemed like the perfect time to get back into these posts. September is one of my favorite months because everyone starts getting excited about fall, but the weather is usually still pretty nice. As far as nails go, it seems like it’s definitely time to put away the bright summer neons, yet I’m not quite ready to pull out my dark, vampy colors like navy and wine. For me, gray polish is the perfect color for this time of year as it’s such a great shade to transition into fall! It’s extremely wearable because I think it looks very fresh and modern while still being somewhat neutral and ladylike. Plus it pairs really well with fall clothing!
Gray is one of those colors that has a million different variations, so there really is a shade out there for everyone! If you’ve ever picked out gray paint before you’ll know that some are more purple, some look more green, others are more blue toned, while some are more brown/taupe. When it comes to nails, this means that you can definitely find a gray polish that’s flattering to your skin tone and that fits your comfort level. (I personally think a purplish gray is more wearable and a good intro into this color if you’re not used to it, where as a blue or green gray looks more trendy – I love them both though!) I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite gray nail polishes that would all be perfect for this time of year, as well as to carry you through the fall and winter months…
