Baby // My Portland Shower

Today, I am SO excited to share some photos from the absolutely lovely baby shower I had here in Portland this weekend! Although I did already have a wonderful baby shower back with my family and friends in Michigan last month, I really wanted to celebrate with the people I love here in Oregon as well. So when my friend Rachel offered to throw me a baby shower here in Portland, I was really appreciative! She knows me really well and we have similar taste, and she did a really fabulous job putting everything together. It really meant a lot to be able to share the excitement about our baby boy’s impending arrival with my family and friends here and it was such a fun afternoon!

What’s really amazing to me is that many of the friends at my shower this weekend were people that I’ve just met within the past year. For only knowing each other a relatively short time, I’m incredibly grateful that we’ve already built such solid friendships. And yes, a lot of these girls I have met through blogging! Say what you will about it, but blogging can really bring people together and my shower was a definite testament to that. (I’ve also included their blog links, if applicable.)

My friend Kelsey took photos at my shower, and she did such a beautiful job of capturing the day. Plus, it was really great to be able to focus on visiting with everyone instead of snapping pictures! I had a hard time narrowing down which ones to share though, so get ready for photo overload…

The adorable invitations Rachel sent set the perfect vibe for the shower.
I’m 33 weeks pregnant, so heading into the home stretch!
Gorgeous spread!
My sweet friend Rachel is the one who hosted the shower, and I really can’t thank her enough for her thoughtfulness and hard work putting everything together for such an amazing day!
All the cute little decor items were very “me” and proof that Rachel knows me really well 🙂

The bump is definitely growing by the day!

Everyone signed a book with sweet messages which was really cute!
I have to give a special shout out to Rachel’s roommate Kristi (she’s the one in the blue dress and I totally blanked on getting a photo together, whoops!) because I know she put in a ton of work getting ready for the shower as well, and she also made really awesome favors that I loved!
She made these sets of coasters for each person that had four different designs on them and they were all so cute! She is also starting an Etsy shop called Brown Paper Bow so look out for that!
My friend Meredith (left) made the food for the shower and it was all fantastic!
Delicious smoked salmon
Butternut squash and bacon mac and cheese – so yummy!
My mom flew out from Michigan for the weekend for the shower, and it was really fun for her to get to meet the friends I’ve made since moving to Portland!
Cam’s aunt, his cousin, his mom, and my sister-in-law (and our adorable nephew!) were also at the shower and I’m so glad they could be there! It’s so nice having his family here in Oregon 🙂
I loved catching up with so many of my friends like Bee and Sarah!
Plus, Rachel’s cat Winston did a great job of entertaining everyone 🙂
My friend Linnea just had a baby recently and so she’s been awesome with giving me tips!
I’ve actually known Brianne since elementary school and coincidentally, we both ended up in Portland! She’s moving out of state soon, but it’s been so nice getting to hang out this past year 🙂
My adorable friend Chloe clearly got the stripes memo 🙂
Kelsey is not only an amazing photographer, but she’s also a really great friend 🙂
Getting ready to open gifts…I got so many thoughtful things for our little guy!
This cute onesie is from my friend Erin who couldn’t be at my shower because she’s currently traveling around Asia with her husband for the next few months! (Thanks though Erin!)
My good friend Kristi (who I didn’t get a picture with either, whoops!) got us the Fox in Socks book along with some adorable fox pajamas (that have foxes on the feet!) – too cute!
The cake came from Palace Cakes (courtesy of Cam’s mom) and it was so good!
The vanilla bean buttercream was divine and I loved the simple yet sweet look of the cake.
Rachel got the adorable cake topper which I just loved 🙂
Clearly I was excited about the cake, ha!

My Portland shower was absolutely perfect and I had the best time celebrating!
Thanks again to Rachel for hosting, Kristi for the favors, Meredith for making food, Cam’s mom for providing the beautiful cake, and Kelsey for taking all these lovely photos of such a special day!
