Baby’s size:
At my 34 week appointment, the midwife said she’d estimate he’s about 5lbs or so.
But she also said that’s not really a good estimate of how big he’ll be when he’s born since she said that larger babies usually put on the weight at the end 🙂

Weight gain:
At my 34 week appt, I was up about 23 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight…but I haven’t stepped on the scale since then, mainly because week 35 has basically been me eating Halloween candy every.single.day and I don’t really want to know…eeeeek!
Gender: Bouncing baby boy!
Movement:
He’s still moving around a lot, but his movements are larger and not quite as frequent since I think he’s starting to run out of space in there. He is head down right now, so hopefully he’ll stay that way!

Food cravings:
Halloween candy, Halloween candy, and more Halloween candy. Tootsie rolls specifically!
Sleep:
Hit or miss – some nights are really good, and then other nights I wake up randomly or because I’m uncomfortable and need to change position. Daylight savings time has totally been throwing me off!

Miss anything?
Having free time! I feel like the past couple of weeks have been really busy with work, appointments, classes, and it seems like there is always something to do. Also, now that I’m in the home stretch, I’ve been starting to indulge more with eating sweets…and so I’m really missing being able to do an intense workout!
Workouts:
I’m still trying to walk as much as possible, but it’s been a little bit of a challenge since it’s been so rainy the past couple of weeks! I’ve also been a pretty spotty with my prenatal yoga attendance lately because of our birth classes conflicted with the time…so hoping to get back on track with that!
Maternity Clothes?
Pretty much 100%, with the exception of a few pieces and some workout clothes. I do have a post in the works about my favorite maternity pieces, I just haven’t gotten a chance to share it yet!
Symptoms:
Overall I’ve still been feeling really good, but I do think that I might be starting to slow down a little bit. I’ve had some minor heartburn here and there and sometimes the skin on my stomach still gets itchy, but other than that, no real complaints!

Mood:
Feeling overwhelmed but excited! Even though we’ve known what we want to do for the nursery for a long time now, there’s a lot we haven’t actually done yet. The room is painted, the furniture is set up, but there are still a lot of things that need to happen before it’s “done” and we’re just now getting around to it. There are bunch of other random to-dos on my list that really should get accomplished before the baby arrives, work is super busy right now, and some days it just feels exhausting. But at the same time, he’s going to come when he wants to whether everything gets done or not…and that’s really exciting! I think it’s starting to get a lot more real that we’re going to have a newborn in only a few weeks, and we’ve been thinking more about what that’s going to be like. And we do have our carseat and our co-sleeper already, so even if nothing else gets done, we should be ok!

Best moment from weeks 33-35:
My baby shower here in Portland, doing our maternity photos, and going on a little babymoon!
Also, we’re basically done with all of our classes – we did a 4 week preparation for birth class, a marathon breastfeeding/newborn care class, and a hospital tour over the past few weeks. We just have one make-up birth class to complete next week, and then we’ll be done! I actually enjoyed the classes a lot more than I thought, and I feel like we both feel a lot more prepared now.

Looking forward to:
My friend Natasha and her husband are coming to visit this weekend and I can’t wait to spend time with them and show them around Portland! I’m also looking forward to making more progress on the nursery and getting more things accomplished over the next few weeks because I think I’ll feel much better after we complete a few more things from the to-do list 🙂
