Is it just me or is March flying by? I can’t believe April will be here before we know it, and so I wanted to pop in and share a little bit about what I’ve been up to lately! This post is somewhat short and sweet since I’ve got out of town company this week, but I thought it would be a fun way to say hi 🙂

This month, I’m…
Making: Henry’s Easter basket! (Well I’m not actually making the basket itself, that would be some intense Pinterest level dedication and ain’t nobody got time for that) Even though Henry obviously will not care whether or not he has one this year, I am still having a lot of fun putting one together for him! I may try to put up a post about what I’m including if I have time later this week, just because I’ve seen a lot of bloggers putting up those posts lately and they’ve given me some great ideas! Also, I really want to try my hand at making one of those “naked” cakes this spring! I see them on Instagram all the time and I think they look so pretty…but I just don’t know if I can bring myself to do it because frosting is definitely my favorite part of a cake, ha!
Cooking: In my crock pot, all of the time. Seriously, how do people live without one?! I use it at least twice a week pretty much every week. It’s just so much easier to get dinner done earlier this in the day while Henry is napping! I recently made corned beef for St. Patty’s day in it and it was delicious!
Reading: Way too many articles about the election. I know that reading all these various theories about how everything is going to go down over the next few months ultimately isn’t going to change the outcome, but I can’t stop clicking on them when I see them on Facebook.
Wanting: The rain to stop. It’s been so rainy in Portland over the past couple of weeks! And yes, I know that it’s what I signed up for living in the Pacific Northwest, but still. I’m ready for nice weather!
Looking: Forward to our trip to South Carolina at the end of this month – I can’t wait! So that, and then seeing Henry in the ridiculously cute Easter outfit I got for him this Sunday 🙂
Wishing: The rain would stop. It bears repeating.
Enjoying: Having my sister in town! She came to visit from NYC and it’s been great having her here!
Eating: Salt and Straw ‘Pots of Gold and Rainbows‘ ice cream! Since my sister is in town, we’ve been indulging in some of Portland’s best sweets and this seasonal flavor is a Lucky Charms lover’s dream!
Loving: That I found Henry and I matching Converse this weekend! I’m so pumped for some mother-and-son twinning this spring and summer 🙂
Hoping: That my husband is able to get our basement finished quickly and without too many issues. Since he works from home, he’s working on finishing part of the basement so he can move his office down there and out of our guest room. But since our house is almost 100 years old, trying to deal with things like wiring is not super straightforward and everything ends up taking way longer than anticipated. It’s a slow process and I feel bad that he’s having to devote so much free time to something that’s been pretty frustrating. But I know it will be worth it when it’s done!
Needing: To get a haircut – it’s been way too long!
Feeling: Like I’m finally starting to adjust to the time change from Daylight Savings. Even though I love having the longer days, that first week always feels a little off to me. (Thankfully Henry didn’t seem to have a problem with it at all though!)
Watching: Quite a bit of TV recently! (See: ALL OF THE RAIN) We watched the finale of Downton Abbey earlier this month and I’m still sad it’s over. We also blew through season 4 of House of Cards when it came out on Netflix in the course of a weekend! And then I was super into this season of the Bachelor and was really happy with the outcome! I think Jojo will be an awesome Bachelorette and Ben and Lauren seem really happy! I know, I know, it’s a reality TV show and I always want every couple from it to work out and they usually don’t. But I really think Ben and Lauren will? They just seem so in love! (I am literally this show’s target demographic because I’m such a sucker…ha) Speaking of relationships, we’ve also been on a big Fixer Upper kick lately because it comes on both our HGTV app on our AmazonFireTV and it’s on Netflix. Seriously though, Chip and Joanna are the definition of relationship goals. I’m looking for some new shows to watch though, and I’m open to suggestions!
